Upon request by the Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality (FEMM) of the European Parliament, this note provides background information for the FEMM Committee mission to an asylum seeker reception centre in Jette. It presents both the EU and the Belgian legal framework concerning the reception of asylum seekers and examines how gender aspects have been taken into consideration in the context of the asylum application procedure and reception conditions in Belgium (Texto completo).
